How to Learn to Read Auras
Every living thing gives off energy. An aura is a physical expression of the energy that surrounds us all. Have you ever met someone who gave off bad vibes, or heard someone described as "radiant"? These terms refer to a person's aura. Most of us have been trained not to notice them, but by following the guide below you can learn to see and read auras. It is not some strange paranormal phenomenon; is it an acquired skill and useful tool through which you can gain valuable insight into the world and people around you.

1
Observe the aura. Before you can read an aura, you have to be able to see it. And in order to see an aura, you have to be able to relax your eyes. To learn this skill, begin by placing a solid colored object on a piece of white paper or against a white wall. Close your eyes. Take deep breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. When you feel peaceful and calm, open your eyes and look at the object.
-
2
Gaze, without focusing, at the object while taking in the space directly above and behind it. Getting used to holding this type of look will take practice. In the beginning, set a target of 45 seconds. Eventually, you will begin to see a soft wisp of color radiating from the object. When this happens, concentrate on the color, but don't focus your eyes. The color will begin to grow stronger. With practice you will be able to see more than one color.

Take on more advanced projects. When you have successfully seen the aura of one inanimate object, try objects in different colors. Then move on to plants and then animals and people. Living things tend to have auras that hover over them, particularly around the head. These can change frequently, depending on their mood and can give you powerful clues as to the quality of a person's character as well as their basic personality.

4
Read your own aura. Place your hand against a sheet of white paper, or hold your bare arms skyward, using the clouds as a background. Stare around your body, not directly at it. Eventually you will see a soft glow clinging to your skin. Keep looking, without focusing your eyes. The glow should begin to take on a color, or multiple colors. Your aura surrounds your whole body and with practice it will become more visible to you.

Interpret your results. In general, red auras indicate anger or nervousness, while orange represents kindness and contemplation and yellow signifies joyfulness and a cheer. Green is the color of empathy if it is light, or jealousy if it is a darker shade. Blue denotes calmness and quietude and violet radiates from someone who is looking for something. Silver comes from those who are successful while pink is sent out by people in love and brown is emitted by nature lovers or outdoor types. White is the color of goodness and wholesomeness and black represents imbalance or hatred.

Tips & Warnings
When you are first learning to see auras, make sure you practice in a room with dim lighting as bright lights can make auras difficult to see. In general, the brightness of an aura indicates its strength. For example, a person who is very happy will give off a bright yellow aura, or a person who is very nervous may actually spark red while moving. If you have experience with "Magic Eye" books, you will find the relaxing of your eyes much easier. The real "trick" is learning to be focused and relaxed at the same time.
Do not squint or strain your eyes when trying to see an aura.
