A homemade mousepad gives your mouse a custom resting spot.

Making mouse pads can be fun, easy craft projects and they can also make excellent gifts. They're useful to anyone who has a desktop computer, and when you make them yourself you have the ability to customize them by shape or pattern. With just a few materials from a craft store, you will be able to create mouse pads that add a personal touch to any workspace.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut your craft foam sheet to an 8-inch square, circle, heart or any other shape you desire, making sure you have enough room to move around your mouse on it.

    • 2

Trace the shape onto the adhesive shelf paper. Cut it out using a craft knife. You may also use scissors; however, craft knives create more precise cuts and may be used to clean up your edges if the shelf paper and the craft foam don't fit together perfectly.

    • 3

Glue the shelf paper to the foam sheet using craft glue. Place a heavy book on top of the mouse pad while it dries to create even more permanence in the bond. Let the glue dry for 24 hours before attempting to use the mouse pad.
