How to Remove Popular Screensavers

Popular, general screensavers can have very little meaning, but personalized ones can evoke soothing, calming emotions as we go about our sometimes hectic day. As we use our computers more and more, screensavers can be a welcome reflection of our personalities and our families, with pictures of the people and things we care about the most. Follow these easy steps to remove unwanted generic screensavers from your computer.

Instructions

1. From the Start Menu, click on "Search."

2. 

   In the "All or Part of the File Name" box, type "*.Theme" and then press "Search."

3. Highlight unwanted screensaver files. Press "Shift" and the "Down Arrow" to select more than one file.

4. Right-click your mouse.

5. Select "Delete" and then click on the "X" in the upper right corner of the search results box to exit.

Tips & Warnings

• Keep one general screensaver on file to use as a interim placeholder in case you decide to remove your personalized screensavers later.

• Always use a screensaver, especially if you are concerned about security. Screensavers can require a password to access the computer after a few moments of disuse.
