Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 26 inches cotton cording (1-mm gauge)
  • 1 yard beading thread (coordinating color)
  • Beading needle
  • Seed beads (size 11)
  • Alphabet beads (letters to spell name)
  • 2 crimps
  • Crimping pliers
  • Closure clasp
  1. Step 1

Fold the length of cording in half. Tie the beading thread onto one of the cording tails approximately 1/2 inch from the fold of the cording. Hold the cording so that the thread is knotted on the right cording tail.

  2. Step 2

Thread the beading needle through a seed bead and push the seed bead up until it rests between the two lengths of cording. Pass the beading thread over the left cording tail.

  3. Step 3

Loop the beading thread around the backside of the left cording tail and insert the beading needle through the seed bead again. Keep your work tight to make sure that the beads stay in the proper position.

  4. Step 4

Loop the beading thread over the top of the right cording tail and then around the backside of the right cording tail. Place another seed bead onto the beading needle, and push it up to rest beside the first seed bead. Loop the beading thread over the top of the left cording tail and then around the backside of the left cording again. Insert the thread through the seed bead again. You are threading the beading needle through the seed beads and looping the beading thread around the left and right cording tails.

  5. Step 5

Add more seed beads in the same fashion until almost half of the cording is filled. At that point, add the alphabet beads in the same fashion to spell the name. Finish the second half of the bracelet with the seed beads in the same fashion to finish threading the bracelet.

  6. Step 6

Place a crimp onto each end of the cording. Make a loop with each end of the cording, and insert the cording end back into each crimp. Use the crimping pliers to squeeze each crimp. Trim any excess cording on the other side of the crimps.

  7. Step 7

Place one half of the closure clasp onto both crimped loops on one end of the bracelet, and place the other half of the closure clasp onto the loop of cording at the other end to finish the bracelet.
