When spring has sprung, it's time to get the golf clubs ready for the opening of the local course. The business end of Calloway golf clubs must be properly cleaned and maintained in order for them to perform at their best, which makes your game much more enjoyable.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bucket
  • 1 tbsp. dish detergent
  • Soft toothbrush
  • Soft cloth
  • Windex wipes
  1. Step 1

Squirt approximately 1 tablespoon of dish washing detergent into a bucket and add approximately 2 inches of warm water.

  2. Step 2

Place the club heads in the water and let them soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Make sure that the ferrules of the club are not in the water. The ferrules are the part of the club that connects the shaft to the club head.

  3. Step 3

Brush each club face with the toothbrush or soft brush to loosen the dirt and dried grass in the grooves of the club face. For stubborn dirt in the grooves, loosen with the pointed end of a tee.

  4. Step 4

Rinse the club faces with cool water and dry them with a clean, dry cloth.

  5. Step 5

Clean the grips with a Windex wipe or a paper towel dampened with Windex. Windex is a great cleaner because it removes the oils from your hands without damaging the grip. Make certain the grip is completely dry before placing it in the bag to avoid excessive dampness in the bottom of the bag.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you remember to clean your clubs in the fall, they will be ready in the spring. To add shine to the shafts of your clubs, rub a used dryer sheet over them, or a soft cloth with baby oil on it.
  • Getting water in the ferrules may loosen the glue that holds the club onto the shaft, so keep it dry.
