Step 1
Have a trusted friend take several pictures of you in a swimsuit.
NOT a suit that covers everything up and cinches all the flab either!
Try a bikini if you dare!
Have these pics printed and put them in places that you will see them throughout the day. Put some on your fridge so that you see yourself before you open that door! -
Step 2
Get on www.mypyramid.gov
This site will calculate all the calories and (gasp!) grams of fat you intake in a single day! If you are honest and input everything that you eat from morning to night you might be SHOCKED at the totals....
It was enough to completely freak me out and get me motivated to exercise daily! This site also calculates the calories burned by all types of exercise that you input!!! I've lost 20 lbs since I started keeping a "food and exercise diary on mypyramid.gov -
Step 3
Take out a bunch of pics of you from when you went to high school or college.
Get out the pre-marriage and pre-babies pictures! Remind yourself of how you used to look and realize that it's very possible to get back where you were! -
Step 4
Do some online research about the health risks of not exercising and eating healthy. The list of diseases and conditions that result from lack of proper diet and exercise is staggering.
Go ahead and do it. Scare yourself into getting healthy... -
Step 5
It's never too late to start getting fit! My husband and I started running together for the first time in the 7 years of our marriage! It turns out that we LOVE it! It's something really fun that we get to do together.
Plus we got a really nice jogging stroller and our son LOVES to ride while we run!
You can do it! Motivate yourself!
