Things You'll Need:
- Organic fragrant roses.
- 8oz of purified water.
- Rose essential oil.
- Sterilized glass bottle with a screw top.
- Stainless steel pot.
- Small plate that can fit inside the pot you are using.
-
Step 1
Red RosePick at least 2 organic roses, the color choice is up to you I prefer fragrant red roses. They naturally give the rose toner a pink hue, as well as a subtle fragrance. They can be bought or from your own garden.
-
Step 2
Petals in waterPull the petals from the flower and rinse away any dirt of debris. It is very important that the roses you use have not been sprayed with pesticides or insecticides.
-
Step 3
Pour the 8oz of water into the clean pot and put the rose petals inside. Use the plate to weigh down the petals. Set the pot on the lowest heat setting so that the water won't boil, but it will sweat the petals. Sweat the petals for about 30 min or until the water is pink and you can see the petals have lost most of their color and they are wilted. Remove from the stove and set aside to cool.
-
Step 4
Once the solution has cooled you can pour into the glass bottle using a strainer to catch the petals. At this point you can add 2-3 drops of rose essential oil for fragrance, the rose oil will also help if you have dry skin.
-
Step 5
Dried ChamomileYou can add
2-4 drops of the following essential oils for problem skin.
Witch Hazel: useful for problem skin and acne
Chamomile, Lavender, and Rose: Is useful for dry skin
Mandarin: If you have spots, scars, or your skin is very oily.
Keep in mind other essential oils may change the fragrance of your toner. -
Step 6
You can apply the toner on with a cotton ball or a cotton round, or you can empty contents into a sterilized plastic bottle with a spray nozzle.
It will keep for a week. Keep in a cool dry place, or in your refrigerator if necessary.
