get Easter Egg dye off of hands

Dyeing Easter Egg' s is a blast! It is one of the best pre-Easter activities but, it can get really messy! Take some precautions to keep things clean beforehand: put the kids in old play clothes that won't matter if they get dye on them, lay down newspaper with a layer of wax paper on top, and have paper towels or rags handy. Then dye the eggs and follow these quick instructions for removing dye from hands!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

With the hands DRY, pour a teaspoon or so of baking soda into them. Add a few drops of water to create a paste. Rub the hands gently with the paste.

  2. Step 2

The baking soda paste will start to turn the color of the dye. Add water and baking soda as necessary to maintain the paste and repeat until most of the dye is removed.

  3. Step 3

Wash the paste off and wash hands again with a natural soap like Method or Dr. Bonners. Your hands should be clean and virtually dye free!

Tips & Warnings
  • The baking soda mixture will work on wood and other surfaces too!
  • Do not use chemicals like nail polish remover or other acetone' s on the skin. The skin absorbs chemicals and the blood stream sends them directly to the liver! Use these SAFE and Natural methods first, they work!
