    Economic times have caused grocery food bills to go up. We all have to eat and there are ways to reduce the grocery bill.

    Don’t go to the store hungry. Shopping when you hungry makes you want to buy more snack foods. Your rumbling stomach is looking for a quick fix.

    Plan what you’re going to buy. A menu for the week can make the grocery list easier. Helping plan what you need to buy during your shopping trip.

    Being loyal to one brand can also prevent you from reducing your grocery bill. This can prevent you from taking advantage of sale item. Some store brands are manufactured by the brand name company. Unless you really love the item or are required to use it don’t be afraid to try something new.

    Shopping with coupons can also help. Using coupon especially for item you need and are on sale can drastically reduce your grocery bill. Some grocery stores will even double them. You can find some free coupons online. Check the resource section at the bottom.

    Reuse bags at the grocery store. Those plastic bags are an eye sore anyway. Some grocery stores will give you money off your bill for reusing them. Some even give you money off for bring your own cloth bags.

    Stop looking at impulse item. These are the item placed around the check out. (i.e. gum, magazines, soda) They are there to get you to spend more money.

    Leave the children and spouse at home. They can often time distract your from your plan and those unwanted items end up in the car.
