Anyone can lose weight, making just a handful of simple changes in their lives. These five simple steps can help you drop the pounds, and keep them off, without going on a diet or making huge lifestyle changes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eat breakfast to lose weight. Studies have shown that people who eat a healthy breakfast will consume fewer calories throughout the day. Choose foods that will fill you up, and that don't have a lot of sugar. A sugary breakfast can start a crash cycle, with you constantly craving sweets, that may last all day.

  2. Step 2
    More Water, Less Soda

    More Water, Less Soda

Drink more water, and less soda. Yes, this includes diet sodas. Use a big water cup that holds at least 20 oz. of water, and make a commitment to drink 3-4 glasses of water a day. Water will help your body flush fat from your system, and fill you up, allowing you to eat less.

  3. Step 3

Make simple substitutions can help you lose weight quickly. Need something sweet after a meal? Try applesauce or graham crackers. Trade in your nightly dessert for a container of low fat yogurt with nuts or berries mixed in. If you love to snack, try snacking on a healthy cereal or cheese and fruit slices.

  4. Step 4
Brush Away Cravings to Lose Weight

Have a tough craving? Try brushing your teeth. It can help you to get rid of the craving, and besides- nothing tastes good right after you've brushed your teeth. That can be enough to curtail you until the craving passes. It's okay to follow your cravings once in a while, but don't overdo it. Eat enough to satisfy, and then stop.

  5. Step 5

Exercise where you can. You don't need to join a gym or buy pricey equipment. Run around the park with your children, go for a walk, buy a few fun exercise DVDs (dance and kick boxing are popular choices), or even make a commitment to mop and vacuum your home 2-3 times a week.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't expect immediate results. It took a while to put the weight on, and it will take a while for the weight to come off.
  • Any extra exercise can help you to lose weight faster, as long as you are consistent with it.
  • Please talk to your doctor before starting any fitness routine.
