I'm always surprised when you can mix hard liquors together and get a drink that actually tastes good. The 24K Nightmare was my first experience with this. Due to a lack of ingredients I came to discover its cheaper cousin, the 10K Nightmare. This version doesn't taste that bad at all.

A 24K Nightmare consists of equal parts Goldschlager, Jägermeister, Rumple Minze, and Bacardi 151 proof rum. This article shows you how to make the cheaper 10 carat version.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Goldschlager
  • Jägermeister
  • Ice
  • Tumbler
  1. Step 1

Combine an ounce of Goldschlager with an ounce of Jägermeister.

  2. Step 2

Pour into a small tumbler over ice. Take a look at the picture for a tumbler reference.

  3. Step 3

If you want to upgrade to a 24K Nightmare, add in an ounce of Rumple Minze and an ounce of Bacardi 151 proof rum. (Light rum can be substituted for the 151 proof for better taste but less bite). It's good to have a recipe with you if you want to order either drink in a bar. To date I have yet to find a bartender who knew what a 24K Nightmare was without looking it up.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you don't have Goldschlager any quality cinnamon schnapps will do.
  • Jägermeister leads to notoriously bad hang-overs when over-indulged. The deer and cross on the bottle are from the common need to lament, "Dear God," the morning after.
