2. File your initial claim; then wait 24 hours.

   After you have initially filed an unemployment claim, you must wait for 24 hours to request the direct deposit option.

3. Apply for direct deposit and then verify banking information.

   Be patient; it can take up to 2 weeks to get bank account information verified as valid for direct deposit. In the meantime, you will keep receiving unemployment insurance checks in the mail. If at any time you end up changing account information, you will need to go through another 2 week wait for account verification.

4. Submit your application for direct deposit; never hit the back button.

   When filing for unemployment benefits to be directly deposited, do not use the back, forward, or refresh buttons on your computer. You are also on a time limit to fill out the information of roughly 15 minutes. All of these measures are taken to ensure that your personal and banking information is kept safe and secure.
