Swimming pools are notorious for giving hair a greenish tint. Blondes are the most commonly effected, however people of all hair shades can get a green tint to their hair after exposure to chlorine levels in swimming pools. If you have discovered that your once beautiful hair has turned into swamp hair, try these steps to get rid of the green.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stay out of the pool for awhile. Chlorine bleaches the hair, and the lighter the hair the more noticeable a green tint becomes. Give your hair a break from the harsh chemicals in pools.

  2. Step 2

Invest in some shampoo and conditioner that is made especially for swimmers. It contains specific chemicals that are designed to remove the green tint in your hair. After your hair color has returned to normal, switch back to your regular shampoo and conditioner.

  3. Step 3

For an at-home hair treatment, mix 1/4 cup baking soda in some water and pour over dry hair. Let the mixture sit in your hair for awhile, then rise and shampoo as usual.

  4. Step 4

Search the internet for hair solutions. There are many options for hair color care. Be sure to read the reviews on each product before purchase.

  5. Step 5

When all else fails, seek help from your hair professional. They may recommend a salon color treatment or a specific product to help you get your hair back.
