How to ask your pregnent girlfriend to marry you.

Thinking about asking your pregnant girlfriend to marry you? Getting engaged and having a baby is two very exciting times in ones life. But caution is necessary when mixing the two together. Many pregnant brides can over worry that their boyfriend is only proposing marriage because they may feel trapped. Do not let that stop you, though. If your girlfriend is pregnant and you want to propose marriage you will want to do it in a way that will let her know that you want to marry here because you love her. Not just because she is having your baby.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Put together what you want to say when you ask your bride to be to marry you. Make the proposal special and all about her and your relationship. Tell her why you love her and why you want to marry her in your wedding proposal. This will help you girlfriend not to feel like you are only asking her to marry you because you feel you have to.

  2. Step 2
It does not have to be THE RING.

It does not have to be THE RING.

Get your ring ready. If you can not afford a wedding ring right now do not get your self in major debt, you have a baby coming you will need all the extra money you can get. You can always buy her a wedding ring when you can afford it. But try not to make the proposal empty handed. Buy a nice very low cost ring that she may wear on a different figure after she gets a real wedding ring. You may even use a "family ring". If buying a ring, buy the ring that will fit here when you propose. Choose a ring that can be easily re-sized.

  3. Step 3

Set the date, time, place, and way you want to propose. Let the day be special, try to propose to your girlfriend when she can be relaxed. Again pregnancy can leave a women on a emotional roller coaster so make sure you do not plan a full day of events before you pop the question.

  4. Step 4
Keeping baby's due date in mind.

Keeping baby's due date in mind.

Discuss the engagement length together. Some brides will want to wait until they are back into their normal sized dress to get married. Other brides to be may want to get married before the baby. Let your bride to be know what you want, but you must come to the discussion together. This is best done before making your engagement public to avoid uncomfortable situations when talking about the babies arrival.

Tips & Warnings
  • Propose Marriage to your girlfriend in a intimate private setting. Avoid asking her to marry you in public.
  • Give your girlfriend time to think it over if she needs it. Pregnancy can bring on all types of emotions, taking a little time to think does not mean she is second guessing your relationship.
  • You should rethink proposing marriage, if you would not marry her if she was not pregnant. Divorce rate is astronomical, while it is not always the preferred way you can be a good parent and not marry your baby's mom. If you are not sure wait until you are. Do not rush into marriage.

on 5/5/2009 Great advice on proposing. I especially like your tip about doing it in an intimate setting, but maybe that's just a personal preference! 5*
