Step 1
Focus on details while looking at the photos in a wedding photographer's portfolio. See if you like the approach that this particular photographer has. Do you like the lighting in the photos? Are the photos good quality? Does this particular photographer cut off people's heads? It's important to pay attention to details, because more than likely, this is what your wedding photos are going to look like!
-
Step 2
Check if the wedding photographer you're about to hire has any experience taking pictures of weddings. How many weddings did they do? The more experienced the photographer is, the better for you as you know you're hiring a professional who knows all the ins and outs of a wedding and can quickly react to things.
-
Step 3
Ask to see the photographer's references. Actually take time to call one or two of them and talk to the bride about the wedding photographer you're about to hire. Were they happy with their wedding photos? Was the photographer professional? Ask all the questions you can think off.
-
Step 4
Google the wedding photographer's name or their business name and check the reviews that they have received. Are people pleased with their service? Are there any complaints?
-
Step 5
Don't be afraid to trust your gut feeling. If you feel uneasy about hiring a particular wedding photographer, just look for another one.
