Ants on a log is a great and quick kids snack. This old favorite will be sure to have kids asking for more.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Celery
  • Raisins
  • Peanut Butter
  1. Step 1

The Logs. First, you start with the celery. Kids usually like celery because it's crunchy and can take on other flavors. Make sure to wash it well and pat dry. Celery is naturally watery, so make sure you wipe all of the excess water off. Next, cut the celery into 2 inch pieces and arrange on a plate.

  2. Step 2

Peanut Butter. Any kind of peanut butter will do, smooth or crunchy. Use your kids favorite or if you really want to go "all natural", you can make your own at the local specialty market. Almond butter is good to snack on too. Spread the peanut or almond butter into the celery grooves.

  3. Step 3

Ants. The ants are simply raisins. Raisins are a great snack all by themselves, but they add taste and fiber to this treat. Place 4-6 raisins on top of the peanut butter. Make sure to spread the raisins out. You can also use dried cranberries if your kids prefer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Let your kids help make their own snacks, they are more likely to eat them.
