Things You'll Need:
- fresh vegetables like;
- carrots
- cabbage
- celery
- tomatoes
- zucchini
- potatoes
- onions
- either fresh broth or;
- bouillon cubes to make broth
- fillers like;
- rice
- barley
- fresh cooked beans
- herbs and seasonings
- stock pot, crock pot, or slow cooker
-
Step 1
Begin the soup with the broth. Decide what you want your base to be and start it cooking. When making a large pot of soup I usually have 2 cups of water to every bouillon cube. Once your broth is started you can decide what veggies you want to use. Wash and cut them. Put into the pot.

Step 2
When using beans in a fresh soup remember that the dry beans can take a while to cook so you may want to start a pot of beans the day before or very early in the morning if the soup is for lunch or dinner. Carrots, celery, onions, tomatoes, and zucchini always taste good in a bean based soup. Potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, and zucchini always taste good in a chicken based soup. You be the judge of what you will eat.
-
Step 3
You can add the herbs and seasonings into the soup early on in the day and just keep adding as the soup cooks until you get the desired taste. I like to use a lot of basil and garlic. Again you be the judge. If you are going to using long grain or wild rice you can cook separate and add to the soup. If using plain white rice you can add directly to the soup about an hour before it is done or going to be eaten. Barley can also be added shortly before the soup is to be eaten.

Step 4
If you add nothing else and eat nothing else but this soup you will lose weight fast. Everything is healthy and foods that your body needs to provide you with a clear mind and unhindered movement. You will notice that your energy level goes up. You will even have an easier time with bowel movements as everything your body takes in is used to its fullest capacity and not as much needs to be released from the body.
