We eat every day, three times a day, for years. Fasting is an excellent rest, cleanse it and to detoxify your body. There are different types of fast and all of them have their benefits from healing to weight loss, but I will be talking about a juice fast.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Preparation for fasting: In preparation for fasting it is recommended that you stop smoking, eating sugar, red meat and drinking caffeine drinks for a week before the fast. This will cut down side effect of fasting such as may dizziness and headaches.

  2. Step 2

    Reduced you meals: Don't overeat before you begin you fast, as it will only make you hungrier. Start eating smaller portions and add more vegetables to you meals. This will help with the transition.

  3. Step 3

    Juicing: Prepare you juices from raw vegetables. If you can afford it, as it is healthier. Juice a combination or raw fruits and vegetables at the time you are ready to drink them.

  4. Step 4

    Portions: Drink from 32 to 64 ounces a day. Drink eight ounces five or six times a day. If you are still hungry just drink more juice. Also drink lots of water to help hydrate and flush out toxins

  5. Step 5

    How long to fast: If you have never done a fast before, start with one day. Eventually build up to three to seven days. Set a goal before you start and if you feel good continue.

  6. Step 6

    Results of a juice fast: The benefits of a juice will vary depending on your physical condition when you start, but everyone will experience some benefit. You will feel lighter, your mind will be clearer and you will lose weight.

  7. Step 7

    What if you are sick: Always check with you doctor, before going on a fast. If you are on medication, do not stop taking medications while doing the fast. Longer fasting has been know to cure sickness lower blood pressure, cholesterol and balance blood sugar.

  • When coming off a juice fast, don't eat a large meal
  • Use juice fasting, use raw fruits and vegetables
  • You can do a juice fast for spiritual reasons
  • Talk to you doctor before doing a fast

on 8/31/2009 Just coming of an 8 day fruit juice fast. I feel fantastic. Starting to eat a small bit of fruit and small taste of yogurt and of course juice. Will start on soft foods tomorrow with more juice
