Make the change to healthy, organic foods in three simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Organic Food Store
  • Budget for Groceries
  1. Step 1

Find a well stocked organic food store.

The first step is to locate a source of organics that you can rely on to be well supplied and offer fair prices for their products. A knowledgeable and experienced staff can also be an important asset for the beginning organic consumer. A natural food store or regular grocery store that carries organic options, may be the best you can do in some areas.

  2. Step 2

Start adding organic foods to your diet gradually.

Next, realize that the increased cost and limited availability of organic foods makes it difficult for even the most committed consumer to make a total switch. However, for a beginner, starting to incorporate limited amounts of organic foods into your daily routine and diet is easy. Try buying organic produce, such as strawberries and lettuce. Then, once you have become accustomed to the taste and price, start adding organic fruits, organic dairy and similar meat products. Some of these foods may be worth the cost difference to you, because the taste is so much better, or you just feel better when you eat them, however it takes a certain amount of experimentation to find the right mix for your new organic diet.

  3. Step 3

Learn more about the organic way of life.

Finally, continue to seek new ways to change your diet. Look for unique organic recipes. Find sources for these products in your area. Once you have begun to network, either locally or globally with others interested in this lifestyle, you will begin to learn easier ways to start eating organic.
