Stripping your hair can really make you want to dye.

Instructions

    • 1

Deep condition the stripped hair in the shower. You can use any brand of deep conditioner.

    • 2

Leave the deep conditioner in the hair for at least five minutes. Do not rinse it out.

    • 3

Blow dry the conditioner-saturated hair. The heat will open your hair's follicles and allow the deep conditioner inside. Blow dry the hair until it's completely dry.

    • 4

      Rinse out the deep conditioner.

    • 5

Wait at least 24 hours after the deep conditioning before applying the dark hair dye.

    • 6

Follow the directions on the hair dye packaging and rinse and condition your hair after the color has set long enough. This process will replace the unattractive base color your hair was left with after it was stripped. The new dyed color will most likely not resemble what is listed on the hair dye box. The hair may be greenish in color.
You will need to dye your hair again to achieve the desired color.

    • 7

Dry your hair with a towel or blow dryer.

    • 8

Once again, follow the directions on the hair dye packaging. Rinse and condition your hair. Your hair should now be the desired darker color.

    • 9

Do not blow dry your hair, let it dry naturally and do not shampoo or wet your hair for 48 hours.

    • 10

After 48 hours, deep conditioner your hair to reduce the damage done by the stripping and dyeing.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have the money, go to a salon and have a professional stylish strip, deep condition, and dye your hair. They will have better products and more knowledge. Trimming your hair after stripping and dyeing is a good way to lose the damaged ends and make your hair look healthier. Deep condition your hair weekly and rinse out the conditioner with cold water for a shinier look.

  • Do not strip and dye your hair all in the same day. This could damage your hair beyond repair.
