Things You'll Need:
- bobbin
- spool of thread
-
Step 1
Place spool of thread on spool pin on back of sewing machine. Place bobbin on bobbin winder on top of machine.
-
Step 2
Pull thread through first threading loop on back of machine (just as if you were going to thread the needle). If there is a knob on top of the machine, wrap the thread around it.
-
Step 3
Wrap the thread around the bobbin several times so that there are 2-3 inches left over. Pull the excess through a hole on the top of the bobbin.
-
Step 4
Adjust the arm next to the bobbin so that it is resting against the bobbin. Pull the thread taut as you slowly push the foot pedal to begin the bobbin winding. The thread will break or begin to wind around the bobbin so that you can then thread it hands-free.
-
Step 5
There is a nifty device that can be found in fabric stores and online. It is the Side Winder. This handy gadget allows the bobbin to be wound without unthreading the needle of the sewing machine. It operates on batteries and is small enough to pack away easily.

on 4/10/2009 Thanks for teaching us how to thread that bobbin. I should have taken this instead of cooking, but I figured which can I live without? Certainly NOT food! lol 5*
