  1. Step 1

An overview of what you need to eat -

You need to balance your diet. First of all, you have to eat all of the required vitamins and minerals. This will ensure maximal usage of the protein you intake.

Next, you have to eat a large supply of carbs. You can't build muscle without a supply of carbohydrates for energy. This is ESSENTIAL. Eat plenty of whole grain wheats and fruits for carbs.

Make sure you eat plenty of green leafy vegetables.

  2. Step 2

For breakfast - Eat a mix of foods that are high in protein and high in carbs and that are healthy. For example, you could have some high protein cereals (lots of Kashi cereals), yogurts, wheat bread/toast, hard boiled eggs (the whole thing), lighter cheeses. Try to avoid things like bacon, sausage, dark/yellow cheeses.

  3. Step 3

For lunch, you should eat a meal with lots of protein. A perfect example is a salad with tuna or chicken or crab salad. Also, a sandwich with cold cuts is a great alternative. Also, protein shakes and protein powder can add a quick fix of protein and carbs. Put it in the blender with some fruit to make a smoothie. Eat the most protein of the day during lunch.

  4. Step 4

For dinner, eat chicken, fish, beans, legumes, whole grains. Also eat fruits and vegetables. Another protein shake or muscle milk is a good idea.

  5. Step 5

A good snack is something like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Also, high protein foods like peanuts, dried fruits, trail mix are a good idea for a small snack.

  6. Step 6

Drink lots and lots of water. Water, fiber and green vegetables will help the protein be digested.

Tips & Warnings
  • 3 big meals a day are good but 6 small meals a day are ideal.
