How to Stop a CRACK FROM SPREADING ON YOUR WINDSHIELD

At one time or another you probably have gotten a crack on your windshield. The problems that come with having a crack is numerous. If the crack is in your sight line it can be dangerous to drive. It's also illegal to drive with a cracked windshield. Plus if you don't replace the windshield, that crack you have will spread. Here are some things you can
try to prevent that crack from spreading. But please note that these are temporary fixes and you should get with your insurance company as soon as you can to get it replaced.

Instructions

1. Put super glue on the crack. Spread the glue on the inside and outside of the crack. This should hold it together and stop the spread temporarily.

2. This one the ladies will like. Clear nail polish. Again paint it on the inside and outside of the crack.

3. Cracks like to spread due to temperature changes. So try to keep your windshield out of the sun when you park your vehicle. In the winter, there is really no clear answer. Not much you can do to keep your windshield from getting cold. And try not to use the defroster.

4. This one I haven't tried but my brother in law swears by it. Scotch tape.

5. At Auto repair stores they sell inexpensive glass repair kits. I don't personally know if this is for a temporary fix or a permanent fix.

Tips & Warnings

• With some insurance companies there is no deductible on windshield repair or replacement. So there might not be any out of pocket expense.
• These are just tips to stop the spread of your window crack. I don't know if any are foolproof and therefore should be treated as temporary fixes.
