How to Create a Dog Grooming Station
Regular grooming keeps your dog clean and healthy. Simplify pet-care tasks by designating an area in your home for the dog's bath. Keep grooming supplies stocked and tools on hand, which will make your job easier at bathtime.

1
Determine the best place to give your dog a bath. Choose from the bathtub, a sink in the laundry room or a tub in the yard. A faucet with a sprayer is helpful to rinse your pet. Set up your pet grooming supplies nearby, or keep them in a portable bucket or carrier.
-
2
Purchase a portable laundry tub, if you are not using a tub or sink. Make sure it's large enough for your dog.
-
-
3
Gather your grooming supplies, such as brushes, dog shampoos and conditioners, rags and towels, and a bath mat to prevent slipping. Keep a stash of treats nearby to lure your dog into the tub.
-
4
Buy hair and nail clippers for after-bath grooming. A blow-dryer just for your dog cuts down on drying time.

Tips & Warnings
Check with your local zoning board to see if you need a permit to do this. In most cases, grooming your dog at home will not replace professional grooming.
