A paintball sniper is a unique position which is actually more of a marksman and ambush position then a real sniper. There are several unique methods to this type of position.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Camo
  • Paintball Marker
  • Paintballs
  1. Step 1

A key to being a good paintball sniper is to stay unnoticed and stealthy. To this end you should investigate in good camouflage. Try to stay out of open areas, and away from the crests of hills and ridges where your silhouette will be seen.

  2. Step 2

A good paintball sniper follows the credo of "one shot". To accomplish this in a game a paintball sniper must be accurate. Practice regularly with hitting a target approximately the size of a milk jug. You should be able to do this regularly up to about 50 feet.

  3. Step 3

To help accuracy you will want to focus on consistency. Choose a paintball that fits your barrel well and always use the same size paintballs. Better paintball markers will also help with consistency.

  4. Step 4

In games look for paths that the opponent will likely be traveling through. To do this look for areas where the terrain forces them into certain areas. Find a good hiding area within range of these locations and lie in wait.

  5. Step 5

If you don't see anyone for about 3-5 minutes move into a different location. A paintball sniper is different from a real sniper that can take hours and days to get into location. You need to adjust your position as the game develops.

  6. Step 6

Once you see a target wait for them to get within a reliable range before firing otherwise you will likely miss and end up in a firefight with the target which circumvents the point of becoming a paintball sniper.
