Things You'll Need:
- website
-
Step 1
Step one to create a website blog
If you already have a website check and see if you have any software in your cpanel to automatically install software. If you don’t currently own any websites I recommend joining up for a free webhost. Like nxserve.net they will let you own a subdomain like yournamehere.nxserve.net. Or optionally you can create a free domain name at co.cc that will feel more like a .com site name would look like yournamehere.co.cc -
Step 2
Step two to create a website blog
You need to find where the script installer is located. It is usually called fantastico deluxe and is located in the software/services section inside your cpanel with a smiley face icon . Click on this and wait for it to load. Once loaded look for wordpress in the list of items you can include to your website. And click install. -
Step 3
Step three to create a website blog
Once the installation starts it should only be a few pages and take a few seconds. There are some things you will need to know when configuring your new blog. It will ask you for a database name which is your mysql database name. You will need to create one of these in the cpanel under sql management. All you need to do is type in a name for it and password I’d use wordpress and whichever password you used for your site then you will need to enter this into the wp setup. You will need this name, password and your mysql server name. The mysql server name says localhost in it and if using a free web provider needs changed. You can find the name on the right side of your cpanel or in a confermation email sent when your site was created. In the field where asked where to install to leave it at / if you would like your blog to be the first page of your website or enter in something like /blog to have it installed to a different page viewable from a link on your homepage.
