Fold a Paper Airplane
Fold a Paper Airplane
Stephanie Anderson

Every boy (and girl!) needs to learn how to fold a paper airplane. Whether it's for flying around the house, racing through the classroom, or annoying your little sister, a paper airplane can be a lot of fun. Plus, learning how to fold a paper airplane will teach small motor skills and increase hand strength. And that's something every child needs!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of paper
  • paperweight or heavy flat object
  • a flat work surface
  1. Step 1

Lay the paper flat, long ways by short ways. (Landscape orientation.)

  2. Step 2

Fold the top right corner into the center.

  3. Step 3

Fold top left corner into the center to match the right corner.

  4. Step 4

Now, fold the new right corner into the center.

  5. Step 5

Fold the new left corner into the center, lining it up with the right fold.

  6. Step 6

Fold the paper in half with the folded sections on the inside.

  7. Step 7

Fold down the wings on either side by taking the top corner and folding it down. The straighter the fold, the straighter the plane will fly.

  8. Step 8

Now go fly your plane and have fun!

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want, you can use a paperweight to make the folds crisper. This is also a help for little hands.
  • Don't fly the plane into someone's face. Besides being really annoying, it might hurt their eyes.
  • Use caution when flying in a classroom. You might get a detention.
  • Watch out for papercuts! They hurt a lot!
