Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
Betting on horses to win makes the event more exciting.

Betting on horses to win makes the event more exciting.

WIN BET. A straight bet, Single, or Win bet is the simplest and most common type of horse racing bet. You bet on a winner at given odds. You only collect winnings if the horse you chose crosses the finish line first. To place a Win bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horse you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 4 horse, $2 to win. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are betting for a WIN.

  2. Step 2
If you think a horse will finish in at least 2nd place, wager a Place Bet

If you think a horse will finish in at least 2nd place, wager a Place Bet

PLACE BET. A wager for place means that you are betting on a particular horse to finish in at least second place. You will collect money only if that horse finishes in first or second place. To place a Place bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horse you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 4 horse, $2 to SHOW. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are betting for a SHOW.

  3. Step 3

SHOW BET. A wager for "show" means that you are betting on a particular horse to finish in at least third place. You will collect money only if that horse finishes in first, second, or third place. To place a Show bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horse you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 4 horse, $2 to PLACE. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are betting for a SHOW.

QUINIELA BET. Quiniela is a bet placed on two horses to finish first and second place and they can finish in either order. To place a Quiniela bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horses you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 1 and 4 horse, $2 Quineila. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are placing a Quiniela bet.

  5. Step 5

PERFECTA BET. A Perfecta bet is placed on two horses to finish in first and second place and they must finish in the exact chosen order. To place a Perfecta bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horses you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 1 and 4 horse, $2 Perfecta. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are placing a Perfecta bet. Keep in mind that the order in which you list the two horses is the order they must finish. In other words, following this example, if you say "1 and 4 horse," you are saying that the 1 horse will finish first place, and the 4 horse will finish second. NOTE: By telling the betting attendant to "Box it" you are saying that the two horses you chose can finish in ANY order, as long both of them are the first two to cross the finish line.

  6. Step 6
Trifecta wagering can earn big money if you choose the correct three horses!

Trifecta wagering can earn big money if you choose the correct three horses!

TRIFECTA BET. Trifecta betting is betting on three horses to cross the finish line in exact chosen order. Trifecta betting is identical to Perfecta betting, except that you choose three horses instead of two. To place a Trifecta bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horses you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 1, 3, and 4 horses, $2 Trifecta. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are placing a Trifecta bet. NOTE: By telling the betting attendant to "Box it" you are saying that the three horses you chose can finish in ANY order, as long as all three of them are the first three to cross the finish line.

  7. Step 7
Bet on the top four horses for Superfecta wagering!

Bet on the top four horses for Superfecta wagering!

SUPERFECTA BET. Superfecta betting is betting on four horses to cross the finish line in exact chosen order. Superfecta betting is identical to Trifecta betting, except that you choose four horses instead of three. To place a Superfecta bet, decide how much money you want to wager and tell the betting attendant which horses you want to bet on. For example, 5th race, 1, 3, 4, and 9 horses, $2 Superfecta. Always tell the betting attendant the race you are betting on, the horse's post position, or number, how much money you are wagering, that you are placing a Superfecta bet. NOTE: By telling the betting attendant to "Box it" you are saying that the four horses you chose can finish in ANY order, as long as all four of them are the first four to cross the finish line.
