Step 1
Start by writing your educational background and basic qualifications. Cabin crew positions only require a high school diploma unless you are applying as a pilot, in which case you have to have a license and certificate as well as completion of flying hours. Having a degree makes you more competitive, so if you have earned one, be sure to indicate this on the application. Favorable degrees for a cabin crew position include communications, tourism and hospitality. Cabin crew positions also require certain height and weight requirements, so be sure you state that you meet these qualifications in your CV. If you are applying as a pilot, be sure to list what kind of aircraft you fly.
-
Step 2
Define objectives through a summary of your skills and traits. Add an "objective" or "summary" heading and provide a three-sentence summary of why you are interested in pursuing the position. Use keywords such as "leadership," "career-driven," and "diplomacy." These are key skills and traits that are important for a cabin crew position. Leadership means you know how to manage customers, lead them to enjoy the experience and take responsibility of your work. Career-driven means you have the desire to be promoted to flight purser or supervisor and have the potential to be on management track. Diplomacy means that you have the ability to be civil with passengers and treat everyone with professionalism, even the demanding ones.
-
Step 3
List your experiences in customer service. A cabin crew position is primarily a customer service job, and previous experiences in travel, restaurants and retail are looked over favorably. Write a few sentences about your job performance in assisting customers, specifically how you managed tasks, what it produced and what you contributed to the position. For example, if you have experience in retail, include a sentence or two of how you handled risky situations and customer confrontations. Examples of how you solved problems with customers are also well-favored. If you are applying as a pilot, however, identifying the positions you have held in your flight school or previous jobs are important on the CV.
-
Step 4
Add achievements, additional certifications you have attained and any involvement in cabin crew organizations. The Professional Association of Cabin Crew Employees (PACCE) is an example of an organization you can be a part of which shows commitment to the position. Candidates who have obtained good knowledge of the industry through conferences and industry events are appealing to recruiters because this means they can accelerate to advanced training quicker. You may choose to go to flight attendants schools to prepare you for the job and interview as a flight attendant.
-
Step 5
Write a summary about the places you have traveled to. A cabin crew position is for someone who loves traveling, and it is important for recruiters to hire someone who have travel experience and would readily travel at a moment's notice. Be sure to clearly state your passion for traveling, as well as your hobbies and interests related to an on-the-go lifestyle. Knowing this will show recruiters your motivation and help them put your experiences and qualifications in context. All these make you a dynamic candidate for the position.
