Things You'll Need:
- preparation
- fresh fruit
- trail mix
- green tea bags
- low fat yogurt
- veggie sticks
-
Step 1
First you'll need to figure out when and why you snack at work. Is it because you skipped breakfast? To get away from your desk? Beat boredom? Give you an afternoon sugar high? Distract you from your tasks? Once you've figured out why you snack at work, you can choose healthy options to replace the unhealthy snacks you've been having.
-
Step 2
If you snack mid-morning because you skipped breakfast, try grabbing a healthy banana or apple in the morning on the way into work. Or, eat a low fat yogurt at your desk. Your snack craving can be easily beat by having a healthy mid-morning snack of yogurt or fruit.
-
Step 3
If you like to snack at work because you're bored and want something to distract you, try healthy veggie sticks or baby carrots. They are crunchy and fun to chew on, and you can eat them mindlessly without worrying about portions or calories.
-
Step 4
If you snack because you get sluggish in the afternoon, try healthy trail mix. You can make your own with raisins, peanuts, and m&ms. This healthy, protein-packed treat will wake you up and give you energy to last the day without a bunch of unhealthy sugar or calories.
-
Step 5
If you snack at work because you need an excuse to get away from your desk, instead of heading for the vending machine, try making a nice cup of tea. Green tea is full of antioxidants, and will get you away from your desk while you brew it (and believe me, green tea can take a while to brew if you need that break)...
