Checking the oil in your car is a very important step in keeping your car in good working condition. This precaution will save you alot of trouble down the road (no pun intended)! Oil lubricates the parts of the car and also helps keep them clean. I will show you simple steps to keep you and your car in good terms.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your car
  • Knowing the location of oil dipstick
  • Rag or papertowel
  1. Step 1

Locate the oil dipstick in your car. It usually has a looped handle.

  2. Step 2

Remove the dipstick. Wipe clean with clean rag or papertowel.
    Reinsert the dipstick.

  3. Step 3

Look at the reading lines on dipstick. Check to see where the oil level is located. It will either read full or add 1 or 2 quarts. Follow the indicator.

  4. Step 4

If the dipstick reads full, replace dipstick and your are done. If the indicator say to add 1 or 2 quarts, do immediately. Add oil in the oil filler cap. Unscrew cap and slowly pour needed amount of oil. Check the oil level again.
