Pipe cleaner and paper flowers are a simple and outrageously cute craft for a rainy day or birthday party,

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • pipe cleaners in springy colors
  • colored card stock
  • scissors
  • scotch tape
  • glue and/or glitter glue
  • glitter, buttons, sequins, scrap fabric, scrap yarn...
  • grass green-colored craft yarn or ribbon
  • large flower-shaped paper punch is helpful, but not necessary
  1. Step 1

Cut card stock into flower shapes. Use paper punch, or just draw a simple flower shape and cut it out with the scissors. Do several, or a whole bunch if this is going to be a party craft.

  2. Step 2

Tape pipe cleaner "stem" to the back of flower.

  3. Step 3

Tie 6" piece of yarn or ribbon around stem to act as leaves. Make a bow if you'd like, or curl ends.

  4. Step 4

Decorate flower with colored buttons, glitter, scrap fabric and yarn. You can outline the flower in glue and sprinkle on the glitter. Use a button for the center of the flower, and maybe a button on each petal. Get creative!

  5. Step 5

Make a whole bunch of these and put them in a vase or empty glass milk jug. Or, for a party favor, wrap in cellophane or construction paper to make a super cute take-home bouquet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Stacks of card stock scraps can be purchased at Michael's.
  • Adults will get hooked on this project, too!
