How to Make Honey Mustard Marinade

A sweet honey mustard glaze across poultry or pork is a perfect compliment to a savory potato side or tossed garden salad. Sprinkle bread crumbs across the top before baking to absorb additional flavor and add some crunch to the sweetness or top with your favorite veggies or grated cheese.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 jar of honey mustard (any brand)
  • 1 package of Italian dressing mix
  1. Step 1

    Spoon mustard into a bowl. Measure out one half-teaspoon or a little less per piece of meat.

  2. Step 2

    Add 1/8 teaspoon dressing mix per honey measurement (less, if you prefer a milder flavor).

  3. Step 3

    Mix thoroughly, then spread thoroughly over each piece of unthawed, uncooked meat. Lay the pieces on a pan or plate and cover with plastic wrap.

  4. Step 4

    Refrigerate meat in the marinade for at least two hours, giving it time to absorp the flavors before cooking.

  5. Step 5

    Lay the meat on a greased pan and top with any breadcrumbs, cheese, or other flavors desired. Bake at recommended temperature until done.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add a little olive oil and vinegar according to taste to "water down" the marinade and use it as a salad dressing.
  • Any leftover marinade which came in contact with raw meat or any utensils touched by raw meat should be disposed of and not saved for future use.
