Things You'll Need:
- Scraper
- Toothbrush
- Bucket
- Siphon Tube
- Thermometer
-
Step 1
First, you will want to remove your turtles from your fish tank. You can place them into a bucket or into the bathtub while you clean the turtle tank.
-
Step 2
Remove all of the decorations and plants from the turtle tank.
-
Step 3
Clean all of the decorations and plants with a tooth brush.
-
Step 4
Next, scrape the insides of the glass with a scraper or cleaning brush.
-
Step 5
You will then want to drain about 20% of the water in the turtle tank. If your turtles are messy eaters or you have several turtles in one fish tank you might want to drain more of the water. If you feed the turtles in a separate container, they wont make as much of a mess.
-
Step 6
Once the water is drained, you will want to add water back into the turtle tank. You can use a thermometer to make sure the water is at the right temperature.
-
Step 7
You will then want to add Repti-safe into the water. This will remove all of the chlorine from the water.
-
Step 8
Lastly, place the turtles back into the turtle tank.
