Things You'll Need:
- Cotton Bed sheet or Cotton material.
-
Step 1
nice colorsPick a nice sheet that you wouldn't mind wearing around town. Striped material (lengthwise) tends to look pretty stylish...
-
Step 2
Cut the sheet lengthwise into strips that are about 36-40 inches wide and however long your cotton sheet may be.
-
Step 3
Sew the strips together so that they become one long sheet that is anywhere from 9-12 feet long depending upon your size and your intended wrapping styles that you'd like to use.
-
Step 4
Hem the edges so that the baby does not get little strings in his mouth or tangled in his little fingers and toes.
-
Step 5
Learn the different ways to wrap your baby. (I will post some more articles about this when I get a chance.) bed sheets are particularly good for back wraps because they are not so elastic, but firmly hod baby in place.
-
Step 6
baby on boardWear your baby with pride! You are a mother/father who is taking care to provide your infant with the closeness that he needs from you. He/she will thank you someday.

on 4/7/2009 I have a sling that was purchased and I love it. If only I had your article a year ago! Maybe I will try to make one for my friend who is expecting a baby next month though.

on 4/3/2009 I made one of these for my daughter, who was colicky. It was of a slightly stronger fabric, and lasted until she was walking. As she got older, she sat in it, facing me. It took some of her weight off of my hip.
