      If the floor is wet or the wires are damp it is dangerous. This could be very hazardous. Do not touch anything as the electricity can flow through the water. Call the electric company and have them come to turn the power off. They are trained professionals and no emergency is worth your life.

      On a fuse box.
      Lower the lever or pull it down to the off position. This main lever is the only one for a fuse box.

      On a cartridge type fuse box.
      Pull out the plastic boxes that hold the fuses. When the box is pulled out of position and is disconnected the electricity is off throughout the house.

      On the main circuit breaker box.
      Flip the main switch to the off position. Sometimes there may be two main switches to turn off. Some circuit breaker boxes do not have a main switch. In that case turn all the switches to the off position.
