How to Design a Wrestling Singlet

Sketch the basic shape of your wrestling singlet, including one front view and one back view, on a blank piece of paper. This will be your template. You may want to make multiple copies of this--either with a copy machine, by tracing, or drawing them out one by one--so that you can make multiple designs or throw out botched attempts.

Select a main color for the wrestling singlet. This is the basic color of fabric that it will be made from. You could also choose a pattern of more than one color for the base, like tiger stripes or tie-dye.

Identify which information you want to display on the singlet. Do you want to display a team logo? A number? The wrestler's name? Sponsor logos?

Match each piece of information with a location on the singlet. Likely locations for placing information include the front of each thigh, the front of the torso, and the back of the torso. Anything that needs to be visible when the wrestlers are in action should go on the back of the torso.

Sketch each item into place on your design, drawing it to the scale you want. Take into account how each item is oriented--should it be square to the way the singlet is worn, or a little bit skewed? Also consider how big each item should be, and make a note of what color or colors they should be.

Draw in any extra accents you'd like to see in the final singlet.

Step back and look at your designed singlet as a whole. Are you happy with the result? If so, you're done designing your singlet. Otherwise you can start over again, or modify the design you've made until you're happy with it.
