Wireless speakers are an excellent purchase for the casual home theater enthusiast---all the sound without the ugly, hard-to-hide wires. Getting wireless speakers hooked up to a stereo system is a simple process and you'll be enjoying excellent sound in no time.

Instructions

1. Connect the wireless transmitter to the stereo receiver. Use a coaxial or optical audio cable to connect the appropriate digital output on the receiver with the input on your transmitter. A digital connection ensures that you have access to surround formats. Depending upon your equipment, you may need to connect with speaker cable.

2. Set the wireless transmitter up on an entertainment center or TV. Infared transmitters should be in plain sight to ensure proper transmission.

3. Set up the speakers. There are two kinds of wireless speakers: infrared and radio frequency. Infrared speakers require a direct line of sight with the transmitter: the signal cannot penetrate furniture or walls. Radio frequency speakers are not as particular: radio waves usually can travel through objects and walls. However, you may want to experiment to find the best sound.

4. Plug in and turn on the transmitter. Plug in the speakers or install batteries as needed.

5. Turn on your stereo receiver and source and enjoy your new set-up.

Tips & Warnings

• Other radio-based devices can interfere with radio wireless speakers. Set the speakers to a different frequency if possible, or don't use near cordless phones, microwaves and other interferences.
