Instructions

    • 1

Saturate one of the boots with the stretching liquid as directed by the product's manufacturer.

    • 2

Expand the shoe stretcher to the widest width or length the shoe will allow, and insert the shoe stretcher into the first boot.

    • 3

Turn the knob slowly to stretch your boot to the desired width or length.

    • 4

Leave the stretcher in the boot overnight, then remove it and try on the boot to see if it has stretched to the desired fit. If not, re-insert the stretcher and leave it in for another 12 to 24 hours.

    • 5

Repeat the above steps with the other boot.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try out your shoe stretcher on a pair of shoes you rarely wear to get the hang of the device before stretching your calf-leather boots. This should reduce the risk of overstretching. Read the shoe-stretcher instructions carefully, as they can vary. You can find standard shoe stretchers at shoe-repair shops and some shoe stores, and online (see Resources).

  • If all else fails, ask a shoe repairman to stretch the boots for you. As a professional, he will have the expertise and equipment to stretch your boot to the right width and length.
