Health care is an important subject that is the topic of many thesis papers. One of the largest sources of topics in health care is customer service. In one sense, all of health care is a form of customer service. But customer service is considered to be the area in which patients are dealt with in one-on-one situations. These situations don't have to only be face-to-face scenarios. Customer service discussions in the health care field can be undertaken over the phone or through a letter. The common element here is providing a service directly to the customer, which is usually the patient. Because there are so many topics within the umbrella subject of health care customer service, knowing how to write an outline can be a critical element to the success of your thesis.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pen
  • Paper
  1. Step 1

Write your customer service thesis statement. Your thesis statement is your overall claim, the point that your thesis paper will attempt to prove or disprove. Remember to tie your thesis statement tightly with the topic of health care and more generally about some aspect of customer service within health care.

  2. Step 2

List your main supporting points. There should be at least four to make a strong thesis. If you have more than ten, try to combine a few to keep the number under ten. Number them with upper case Roman numerals such as I, II and III. Leave space between each of your main points to add your supporting arguments.

  3. Step 3

Follow your main points with the opposing viewpoint. This should also be an upper case Roman numeral. Thesis papers are stronger when they acknowledge opposing viewpoints and address them.

  4. Step 4

Finish your upper case Roman numerals with the conclusion. This will be the section in which you summarize your thesis paper.

  5. Step 5

Under each upper case Roman numeral, write supporting arguments and counterarguments to any acknowledged opposing viewpoint. You can include minor points within this group. Number this group of statements with capital letters such as A, B and C.

  6. Step 6

Continue with any group of minor points or anecdotal evidence to support your points. List these as lower case letters such as a, b and c under your capital letters.

  7. Step 7

Write your conclusion under the last upper case Roman numeral.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wait a few days and read over it again to check for any repetition.
  • Although your outline does not need to be annotated, your actual thesis paper will need to be.
