How to Draw a Hummer

When drawing a Hummer, the process will be easier if you utilize basic geometric shapes, such as rectangles, circles, quadrilaterals and parallelograms. Drawing the shapes in relative proportions will make it easier to draw the Hummer. After the basic shapes are in place, you can then look at a drawing of a Hummer (such as the one included with this article) to complete the drawing.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a rectangle that is twice as long as it is wide. For example, if you draw a rectangle that is 5" long, it should be 2-1/2" tall.

    • 2

Divide the rectangle into three equal vertical columns. The section to the far right will be for the front car door and window, and the center section will be for the passenger car door and window.

    • 3

Draw a horizontal line down the center of the rectangle. This will be used later to mark the door handles and back light. Do not make the line very dark, as you will erase it in the next step.

    • 4

Draw three small rectangles, two for the door handles and one for the back light. Each rectangle should fall on the line you drew in the previous step. Place one rectangle in each of the three columns, flushed to the left.

    • 5

Draw two tires. They should be almost as wide as one vertical column and a little taller than half the height of the column (as illustrated in the drawing). Draw the first tire below the vertical column to the far left, allowing an edge of it to overlap the line between the middle and left column. Position it so that the top half overlaps the lower portion of the rectangle.

    • 6

Draw the second tire and position it directly in front of the rectangle, level with the first tire. Each tire should have a wide hubcap center with seven spokes.

    • 7

Draw in three windows, one in each column, above the door handles. The back window will be a narrow parallelogram with the ends slanting forward, and overlapping the middle column. The front window will be a rectangle, with the front cut off at a backwards slat. The middle window will be a quadrilateral and will have ends that slant towards the window's middle.

    • 8

Draw the lines to make the final shape of the Hummer. Round the edge of the upper left hand corner of the rectangle. Draw a curve above the back tire, shortening the left rectangle, and adding a bumper. Draw a hood that is a little wider than one of the columns, and about ¾ the column's height.
