Step 1
Choose a character. You'll start with either Polar Bear or the Penguin. Later, you can unlock other characters, including Walrus, Elf and even Santa.
-
Step 2
Select either Stroke or Championship play. Stroke play is basic golf: fewest strokes wins. Championship play includes bonuses and power-ups to make the game more interesting. In addition to regular golf scoring, Championship play gives you points for various accomplishments on each hole. A hole-in-one, for example is worth 1,000 points while a bogey is worth minus 100.
-
Step 3
Go for the power rings in Championship play. Steer your shot through the randomly placed power rings with the mouse to add more points to your score or to get power-ups, such as a free shot that doesn't count against par or a turbo shot.
-
Step 4
Step up to the first tee. To take a shot in Polar Golfer, you simply click on the swing meter on the right side of game play screen to start it. As the meter fills, you must click on the meter a second time to stop it, giving your shot as much power as you think is necessary.
-
Step 5
Change your club if you don't like what the game selects. Listed above the swing meter is the selected club for the upcoming shot. Click on the arrows next to the club name to change clubs.
-
Step 6
Aim your shot properly, especially when putting on an uneven green. Take the correct aim by changing the direction with the arrows at the bottom of the game screen, right below where your character sets up for his shot.
