How to Make a Topiary Tree for a Wedding

Topiaries make good centerpieces for weddings and other banquets because they are elegant and you can easily create one to match your wedding colors. Using dried or artificial flowers instead of fresh flowers will save you money and provide centerpieces you can save for future events.

Things You'll Need

• 36-inchlong tree branch
• 10-inch Styrofoam ball
• Styrofoam cube that will fit snugly in your flower pot
• Floral adhesive
• Flower pot
• Glue gun
• 1 pound dried rosebuds or 24 to 30 assorted silk flowers
• Wire-edged ribbon
• Artificial moss

Instructions

1. Insert one end of the tree branch into the Styrofoam ball and the other end into the Styrofoam cube.

2. Use floral adhesive to set the topiary firmly in the flower pot, cube-side down.

3. Use the glue gun to arrange the rosebuds or silk flowers decoratively on the Styrofoam ball.

4. Tie a ribbon around the stem.

5. Fill the pot with artificial moss, helping to stabilize the Styrofoam cube and covering it.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also use strong tape or hot glue to secure the topiary in the flower pot, but floral adhesive holds up better than hot glue in humid or cold conditions.
