How to Use a Blackhead Remover

1. Choose your blackhead remover. There are several types available, including strips that can simply be peeled away from the skin, suction tools and simple metal bars with small metal loops or cups on the ends. Suction tools are generally for professional use only, so the following instructions are for the metal loop variety.

2. Clean the blackhead remover to ensure that you are not depositing bacteria onto your skin.

3. Identify the blackhead you wish to remove.

4. Place the metal loop over the blackhead so that the blemish is completely inside the loop. Most blackhead removers have two sizes of loops, so choose the one that best fits the blemish you are trying to remove.

5. Apply gentle pressure to the tool, being careful not to break the skin. As the blackhead is extracted, drag the tool across the surface of the skin to remove the debris. Wipe the tool with rubbing alcohol before using again.
