1
Mix the cement according to the package instructions. The cement should be soft, but not liquid, firm, but won't crumble.
-
2
Spray the outside of the smaller pot and the inside of the larger pot with the grease. This will help to keep the cement from sticking to the pots when drying.
-
-
3
Add a 1- to 2-inch layer of cement to the bottom of the large pot. You want the base of the pot to be strong to avoid breaking. You could also make a water drainage hole at this time or drill one later after the pot is dry.
-
4
Place the smaller pot inside the larger pot on top of the layer of cement. Begin filling in the sides with cement, packing the cement in with the stir stick. Make sure to add the cement in a uniform fashion to avoid having one side of the pot thicker than another.
-
5
Let the cement dry per the manufacture's instructions. Once completely dry, remove the plastic pots carefully. At this time you can sand rough edges with a rough-grit sandpaper, paint the outside, or leave as is for a more rustic feel.

Tips & Warnings
The finished pot will be very heavy, so be careful when taking the mold apart or general moving. If you decide to drill a water drainage hole, make sure to wear safety goggles when operating any machinery.
