How to Cut Concrete Siding
There are a few methods to choose from to cut concrete siding. You can use shears, a circular saw or a utility knife to score and break the siding. Shears cause less dust, but are expensive. Things You'll Need
- Utility knife with a carbide blade
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Straight edge ruler
- Metal rasp
- Gloves
- Dust mask
- Safety glasses

Take your measurements using the tape measure. To prepare to cut the concrete siding, mark your measurements in pencil on the siding.

Line your straight edge ruler up with your measurement marks and run your utility knife along the line a few times to make a guideline.

Remove the straight edge and use full force to cut along the guideline, creating a score line.

Move the concrete siding so that the score line is hanging over the edge of your work space. Push down to snap the siding at the score line.

Use the metal rasp to smooth the cut edges of the concrete siding.

Tips & Warnings
Use pliers to break off pieces that are two inches or less from the score line to the end of the board. If you use a utility knife with a regular blade, have a lot of replacement blades on hand because the concrete siding will wear them out quickly.
Cutting the concrete siding is dusty and using the utility knife can be dangerous, so be sure to wear gloves, safety glasses and a dust mask.
