Things You'll Need:
- Clasp
- Chain
- Needle nosed pliers
- Tweezers

Step 1
Chose a clasp. There are several different kinds of clasps, ranging from standard closures to hook closures to lobster claw closures. The clasp needs to be sized appropriately to support the weight of the charms or pendants that will hang from it. It also needs to be a coordinating color, preferably the same color and finish of your chain (see Resources).
-
Step 2
Check to see if your pendant fits over your clasp. If it does not, you will need to put it on the chain before you attach the clasp, making it permanently attached. If it does fit over your clasp, take it off the chain and set it aside. This makes the chain easier to handle.
-
Step 3
Use needle nosed pliers to carefully open the last loop on your necklace chain. Hold it firmly in one hand with the pliers. Use the tweezers in the other hand to pick up the clasp. Slide the loop of one end of the clasp into the loop on the chain that you bent open with the pliers. Grasp the open chain loop with your fingers or the tweezers, and use the needle nosed pliers to bend the clasp closed. You will now have a chain with a clasp on one side and no clasp on the other end.

Step 4
Repeat Step 3 to attach the other end of the chain to the other end of the clasp. When you are completed, use the pliers to make sure the chain loop is closed firmly.
