Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the sarong around your back with the longest sides coming to the front. Wrap one side of the sarong over your shoulder and tie it in the front with the other end. This gives the illusion of a halter dress.

    • 2

Turn the sarong so that it lies in a vertical direction and wrap it around your body from the front to the back. Tie a knot at the top of the sarong, with the knot directly against your upper back and then turn the sarong slightly so that the gap at the bottom sits on your leg. Then tie another knot further down the sarong to create an elegant dress that shows a little leg.

    • 3

Create a different look by twisting the sarong around your body twice for optimum coverage. Tie the edges of both sides along your neck or upper shoulders. This is one of the fastest and easiest ways to tie a Moana sarong.

    • 4

Adjust the sarong so that you have more material on one side and wrap it around your body. Tie the ends of the sarong in the middle of your chest and toss the longer side over your shoulder. You can wear it loose, but most people prefer to slide the extra material into the back of the dress.

    • 5

Lay the sarong on your front and wrap it around the back, then bring it to the front. Tie the ends of the sarong around your chest. This outfit makes it look like you are actually wearing multiple layers, but still shows some skin at the same time.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try experimenting with your look. Sarongs are all about having fun and providing coverage, which is why they say there is no wrong way to tie one. As long as you are comfortable and happy, you'll still look good.
