1
Choose the main flowers, such as roses, tulips or orchids. Pick colors that can compliment your wedding color. Choose flowers that are not in full bloom; flowers in their bud stage with unblemished petals are ideal. Cut the bottom part of each stem and remove any thorns or greenery along the stems.
-
2
Choose some filler flowers, which are smaller flowers that appear in clusters to form the spray. You can choose a similar color or a complimentary color with that of your main flowers. Examples of filler flowers are baby's breaths, miniature roses and miniature daisies.

3
Place the flowers inside a clean vase half-filled with room temperature water with added floral food antibacterial. Leave them there for up to four hours to keep them fully hydrated.
-
4
Make a bouquet starting with the most opened flower as your center point. Surround the edges of this flower with three flowers. Use a floral tape to bind the four flowers together by winding the tape around the stems starting from 4 inches below the stalks.
-
5
Add three bunches of filler flowers in the spaces left between the flowers. Squeeze the stems tightly together and bind them with floral tape, in similar fashion used for the first flowers. Make sure to use the same binding point so that the floral tapes remain tight and neat.
-
6
Add more main flowers to surround the first sets of main flowers and filler flowers by using the same method of taping. Continue this process until you achieve the fullness desired. You can use as many flowers as you like; typically, you can use eighteen stems of main flowers for a nosegay.
-
7
Wrap the stems with a non-wired ribbon with color that goes with your wedding color scheme. Make sure to cover the floral tape and the stems completely. The length of your stem should be at least 10 to 12 inches long to make the bouquet comfortable to carry with both hands. Wind the ribbon back up tightly, so that its end will be close to the stalks of the flowers.
-
8
Place two straight pins by pushing them upwards, one above the other and lined up with each other. The pins will secure the ribbon in place.
-
9
Cut the stems leaving only about 1/2-inch of stems exposed. Cut them evenly to create a neat and finished look.
-
10
Spray the top of your bouquet with a clear set or hairspray to keep it looking fresh on your wedding day.
