How to Make E-Cards With Computer Pictures
Don't like the E-cards that various websites have to offer? You can make personalized E-cards using pictures found on your very own computer. Upload pictures from your camera, create your own pictures using a graphics program or use pictures that you find on the web. Then edit these pictures using E-card programs that are also found on the web. No download is required.

Using a Camera

Take a picture using a digital camera.

Take a USB cord and plug one end into the USB port on your camera. Plug the other end of the USB cord into your desktop or laptop computer.

Locate the temporary folder that has been created on your computer for your camera. Drag the pictures that you want to use to your desktop.

Disconnect the USB cord from the camera and the computer.

Use a graphics program to shrink your image so that the resolution is as low as possible without ruining the quality of the image. This will maximize the speed in which your image uploads and downloads.

Save your image as a JPEG, BMP or GIF if this hasn't been done already.

Use a graphics tablet or mouse to create an image.

Resize the image so that it is as small as you can make it without hurting the quality.

Uploading Computer Picture to E-card Program

Find a website that allows you to upload pictures. Examples include MySpace and Photobucket.

Upload the picture to the website.

Find the location where the picture is posted. Right-click and click "View Image." You should see a web page that has nothing but the picture and a white background.

Copy the URL.

Go to the website in which you're creating the E-card.

Click "Add Image" at the top of the program.

Find the part of the image uploader where you can paste the URL into the uploader. Click "Add Image."

To add text, click "Add Text" and type the message you want to send. Choose a font style, font size and font color.

If you don't have a steady hand, you can easily create smooth lines using a pen tool, line tool or one of the shape tools. found in graphics programs such as Photoshop and GIMP. Start by drawing your picture at a high resolution in order to draw really fine details. Then resize.
